Guest Artist: Ashlie Nicole @ashliextattoo – Sep 24-27

“My name is Ashlie Nichole. I am a new tattoo artist at Sangha Tattoo Studio in Eureka, CA. I have been drawing since I could hold a pencil and tattoo culture has always heavily influenced my artwork even as a child. I began my apprenticeship right before the pandemic in 2020. In December of 2020, I used a tattoo machine for the first time in my life, placing my first tattoo on my mentor. My mother was a huge influence for tattooing, as it was her dream to become a tattoo artist. When she saw I was starting my career, she was over
the moon. Three months later, my mother would pass away from cervical cancer. She was the greatest artist I had ever known. Her passing pushed me further to grab ahold of this opportunity and dive into the deep end of the tattoo industry. I knew that the shop was where I needed to be, as it was my source of true happiness.

After a lot of hard work, I graduated my apprenticeship March 2022. As for a style, I do not particularly have one. I
love to try everything. Color, black work, black and gray, line work, you name it. I do not limit myself on specifics. I pride myself in attention to detail, boldness, contrast and bright colors. Tattoo styles that excite me are neo-traditional, traditional, illustrative and blackwork! I love whimsical/ magical, gothic, and heavy metal themes. To say I love my job is an understatement. When you do what you love it will never feel like work. With all of the personal support I have been blessed with in my journey as an artist to tattoo artist, I am confident in my ability to produce custom artwork that is worthy of admiration.
